Always stay to the right.

Never stop on the trail; always pull-off to the side in single file.

Keep at least 50' between you and the snowmobile ahead.

Always look back at intersections & stops to make eye contact with the person behind you.

Keep your speed within limits.

Slow down at night.

Never drink and ride.

Maintaining control of the snowmobile is more important than giving hand signals to oncoming sleds.

If separated, stay put; the group will find you.

Watch for hidden surprises on the lakes.

Ice is never safe; know the thickness.  Ask the locals.

Now I lay me down to sleep,

I pray for snow, oh so deep.

If I should die before I wake,

I pray the lord, if he would make,

A winter scene for me to enjoy.

And please remember, one with my boy.

Oh Lord you always know,

When it's right, so let it snow.

Falling further into sleep,

I pray for snow 3 to 4 feet deep.

I pray the Lord, for a snow covered lake.

Oh make it real for our sledhead sake.

I pray the snow you will still make.

I do not like green grass and sand,
I do not like the barren Winter land.
I do not like the asphalt bare,
I do not see the snow, no where.

I do not like this Spring-like fate,
I can not stand to wait and wait.
I dream of snow all day and night,
I spent even more money on my sleds, that’s just "not right."

I plan and scheme the next trip out,
I have a disease, there is no doubt.
I have a bug, with just one cure,
To be one with the snow, that is for sure.

In December I will not dally,
The first snowfall, I'll shoot down my alley.
With my Arctic Cat gear from neck to toe,
From that point on, I'll be "good to go."

Heading up North with trailer in tow,

Inside the sleds are shined up ready to go.

Long hours in the truck I'll savor the change,
And the greasy spoons that we'll frequent again.

There'll be several good laughs at the end of the day,

For all the silly things that happened our way.

For the one who had the biggest stuck,

And for those that ran out of luck.

My riding buddies, Avalanche and Andy,
No-longer just a bunch of old trail riding dandies.
For it's our time to blast through the powder,
With the two strokes screaming, louder and louder.

The snow is my one true love,
To view the scenery, from up above.
To squeeze the throttle and go off trail,
To bury the sled without fail.

My name is snow-fever Rick I am,
I do not like green grass and sand.
I do not like this Spring-like fate,
I can not stand to wait and wait.

Winter’s short.  We ride!
