With the Free-Flow-V^TM Air Intake, there is no need to struggle to remove the stock air box and attached ducting.  The CTS-V's factory air box has no restrictive baffles typical of most vehicles.  An additional benefit of the factory air box is it is already completely sealed from engine compartment heat and has two cold air ducts which feed it from behind the stainless steel mesh grille.  Why throw away a well engineered component you already paid for?  Simply replace the factory paper filter with a genuine K&N high-flow performance filter to free up air flow!

The second piece of performance is replacing the restrictive stock intake tube with a free flowing system.  The Free-Flow-V^TM intake tube system is comprised of a high temperature silicone connector, clamped with stainless-steel, constant torque, t-bolt clamps to the mass-air-flow sensor/factory air box and polished aircraft quality 6061-T6 aluminum tube.  Connecting to the other end of the 6061-T6 aluminum tube is a high-temperature rubber elbow, also fastened with two stainless-steel, constant torque, t-bolt clamps.  Dynamometer testing showed a gain of 9.6 horsepower and 7.7 pound-feet of torque on our test CTS-V.  One of our customers installed a Free-Flow-V^TM Air Intake and a B&B Resonator-Style exhaust and gained 20 horsepower and 24 pound-feet of torque at the rear wheels!

For the easiest installation on the market today, simply loosen two factory hose clamps and remove the stock tube.  Next, loosen the two bolts that hold the factory air box closed and replace the factory paper filter with the drop-in K&N high performance filter.  Preassemble the Free-Flow-V^TM intake tube and slip it over the mass-air-flow sensor and throttle body.  Tighten the four included top-of-the-line clamps and you're done!  Five minutes is all it takes to install the Free-Flow-V^TM Air Intake.
